Vocational Service

Vocational Service
focuses on the opportunity that Rotarians have to represent their professions as well as their efforts to promote vocational awareness and high ethical standards in business. For decades, Rotarians having been applying the "4-Way Test" to their business and personal relationships and in recent years, a "Declaration of Rotarians in Businesses and Professions" has given expression to their concern for ethical standards in the workplace. From offering career guidance in high schools, to seeking ways to improve conditions in the workplace, Rotarians and their clubs engage in many different kinds of vocational service.

Some of examples of the Rotary Club of Attleboro's Commitment to  Vocational Service:

  • The Attleboro Rotary Club provides scholarships of one thousand dollars each to students of Attleboro High School and Bishop Feehan High School. The Club is hoping to establish an Interact Club in Attleboro High School. Interact Clubs familiarize our youth with community services leading to the fulfillment of Rotary concepts.
  • During our annual Senior Citizen Spring Fling Event, we combine Community Service with Vocational Service.  As part of the event, students from the Culinary Department of the Attleboro High School provide all of the catering and service to the event.  It's hard to tell who enjoys the event more, the seniors or the students.  In many cases, this event is the first exposure many of the students have to a service organization and helping others.
