Community Service
includes the scope of activities which Rotarians undertake to improve the
quality of life in their community. Many official Rotary programs are
intended to meet community needs, whether it be to promote literacy, help
the elderly or disabled, combat urban violence or provide opportunities
for local youth.

- The Attleboro Rotary Club has compassion
for the underprivileged, the ill, and disabled, many of whom are the
beneficiaries of the service projects conducted each year. It supports
programs such as the Literacy Center, St. Joseph’s Food Pantry, Big
Brothers, Big Sisters, Children’s Bereavement Program, Special
Olympics, AIDS Relief, and Children’s Special Needs Programs.
Support for these programs are in the form of both program funding AND
volunteer participation by club members.
- The Attleboro Rotary Club hosts an
annual Senior Citizen event called "Spring Fling".
Over 400 seniors from the local community are invited to participate
in Spring Fling, which is a social luncheon event with
entertainment. Club members staff the event, and the hall, food
and entertainment is funded by the club. In conjunction with our
Vocational Service programs, catering for the event is provided by the
Attleboro High School Culinary Arts Department and is one of the main
events they put on each year.
- The Attleboro Rotary Club provide
funding to the Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, Community Theater, Art &
Industrial Museums, Youth Football, Baseball, Soccer, Drug Awareness
Program, and Christmas Gifts for Kids.
- The Attleboro Rotary Club is
participates in local community projects in which Rotarians volunteer
for "work parties" to help beautify the community. An
example of such a work party was when Rotarians banded together to
clean up the Attleboro Museum grounds which were in dire need of
attention.
